Happy New Year my friend.
If it’s the first time you are reading, welcome aboard! Great to have you in the HQ.
And if you’ve been here for the past year, welcome back! 💪
(See what happens when you subscribe? You get an extra welcome. May want to invite others to get another one as well😉)
This time I want to share with you some “behind the scenes” work.
Let’s go…
Main quest 🛡
As I mentioned in a Note last Wednesday, the show will go on but you’ll get to have a peek behind the curtain before the actors go out on stage.
Or to use a different analogy, think about those chefs in Asian restaurants that prepare the meals in an open kitchen. (I learned that the word is Omakase)
So, here’s what I’ve been “cooking” (get it?)
There are couple of collabs coming, new sections, and an old one getting revamped.
One of the ideas is to make series of posts about real-world skills to help you stay ahead in this year of change (and can be grouped by themes on the main site).
Another one is related to what I mentioned in the previous post about 2025 predictions. Arming the specialized generalist with the tools to do the kind of work that was impossible before (think skills augmented with AI).
And it’d also be cool to run “skill-getting challenges”. Which, as the name suggests, are challenges to go from “zero to hero” in a particular skill or knowledge area in a very short timeframe.
But since the main goal here is to make everything as practical and useful for you, I have a question…
What would you like to see the most?
A) More personal stories
B) Practical “how-to’s”
C) New experiments and lessons learned.
You can also pick the secret option D that’s a mix of all the above.
Tell me the option you prefer.
Now, besides the improvements and content that’s coming, I also want to share with you some practical examples.
About how the topics we talk about here play a part in real life through my experience leveling up from a desk-bound, city dweller to a more independent person living in the countryside & running a dairy cattle project (along with other online side-hustles).
There’s so much more I want to share but I don’t want to stuff the first post of the year (like a Christmas turkey).
So for now, let’s leave it at that. We’ll have more time during this prepping month.
Thanks for reading so far.
Have a great start of the 1st full week of the year.
Take care, talk soon, and don’t forget to send me your response to the question above.
Cheers,
Juan.
